Winchester School of Art has a background of traditions that go back 145 years. It joined the University of Southampton in 1996 as part of the Faculty of Law, Arts and Social Sciences and has gone from strength to strength. The School is a major International centre of excellence in Art and Design and provides contemporary Programmes valued by industry.

Our staff research activities are world-class (A fact reflected in our excellent International reputation), making Postgraduate and PhD students essential to the vitality and wealth of experience that our community offers.
Based in the historical city of Winchester, the campus is a 2 minute walk from the High Street; which offers a broad range of shopping and leisure facilities. Under an hour from London by train, Winchester is the ideal base from which to enjoy everything that the South of Britain has to offer.
The City of Winchester is proud of its rich artistic heritage and Winchester School of Art is a very important part of the local art scene. The Annual Degree Show held at the School is a key date in the City's calendar and it is an opportunity for final year students to present their work to the community.
Winchester School of Art provides continued support to its International students throughout their time here. Services range from advice and information on day-to-day matters to visa information and financial help. English Language support is also available to all International students.
